The first step is to draw a round shape that will form the body.

Draw a tiny curved line just below the nose to form the mouth.
Draw two small circles inside the head. Then shade it with your pencil.
A. Draw two curved lines just above the eyes, starting from the inner corner of each eye and connecting them to the outer corner of the mouth.
B. Outline the head and add a tiny curved line next to the ear to finish the face.
Draw small scattered lines to create the fur.
A. Using a criss-cross hatching technique, smudge the pencil marks with your fingers to give your drawing a more natural look.
B. Then add a few lines to the body to create a more realistic look.
A. Draw two long horizontal lines as the trunk of the tree. Then add several more lines branching out from them and connect them to create a network of branches.
