In this tutorial, you will learn how to draw a coyote.
We’ll go through the whole process, from start to finish, using simple steps, so you can easily create your coyote simple drawing.
Using basic shapes, we’ll sketch out the coyote proportions and add the face, the fur, and the legs.
So, let’s get started!

Tip: Make sure you don’t press too hard on the paper when you draw your pencil outlines so that you can correct your mistakes with an eraser as you go through the tutorial.
Draw three ovals using a light pencil. First, draw a medium and large one next to each other. Then draw a smaller oval just above a medium one and to the left.
Using two curved lines connect the head with the body. This time use darker pencil strokes.
Next, draw two triangles on either side of the head for the ears.
Start by drawing two vertical lines for the first front leg. Next, draw one line next to the first leg for the second front leg. Then, draw the front paw by adding a few small lines.
A. Start by drawing two vertical curved lines for the first hind leg.
B. Then draw two more lines for the second hind leg.
C. Then draw back paws by adding a few small lines.
Draw two long curved lines at the back of the body.
Add a few bumps to the bottom right for a more realistic look.
Erase any unwanted pencil marks.
Now we are gonna find out, how to draw a coyote face.
Draw a curved line in the middle of the head. Then add a tiny line just below the one you just drew to create a mouth.
A. Draw a small circle just above the mouth and shade it using your pencil. Next, draw two tiny vertical lines just above the nose.
B. Draw two horizontal oval shapes for the eyes at the top of the vertical lines you just added. Then add another two much smaller circles inside of the ovals and shade them in.
Draw lots of wavy lines to the coyote to create the fur.
Shade your coyote drawing to make it look more realistic.
A. Draw several smooth lines to the coyote’s legs.
B. Then draw several smooth lines in opposite directions.
C. Smudge those lines by using your fingers. Then add a few more tiny lines to the body to finish the look.
Finally, draw horizontal lines for the floor.
