Tip: Make sure you don’t press too hard on the paper when you draw your pencil lines so that you can correct your mistakes with an eraser as you go through the tutorial.
Start by sketching out the basic outline of the giraffe. Draw a medium-sized oval using a light pencil stroke.
Draw two long lines and connect them to the oval to form the neck.
Draw a small circle for the giraffe’s head and connect it with the long neck.
Draw a curved line to connect the head and body on each side of your giraffe using a darker pencil stroke.
A. Draw two vertical slightly curved lines for the first front leg.
B. Then add two more lines for the second front leg. Then add feet at the end of each leg by drawing two small rectangles.

C. Attach feet to the end of each leg.
Now is the time to draw some facial features and details.
Draw two lines at the end of a small circle. Next, draw a tiny line between them.
Draw two triangular shapes (one small and the second smaller) on the top of the head to form ears.
Draw a tiny circle for an eye.
Draw two tiny oval shapes to form the giraffe’s nose.
Draw a curved line beneath the nose to form the mouth.
Draw four small vertical lines on top of your giraffe’s head. Then add two small circles directly above each pair of lines to create the horns.
Draw two long, wide-tipped curved lines to form the tail. This will give your giraffe a realistic, full look to its tail.
Erase any unwanted pencil lines.
Outline the giraffe using a darker pencil stroke.
Add more details to your giraffe by drawing the fur and the mane. Start with adding tiny lines around its body.
Draw lots of small oval shapes around your giraffe’s body, varying their size. Begin by drawing them around the neck and head, before proceeding to the legs and body.
Draw a few horizontal lines to form the floor.
Once all the details are in place, you can finish drawing with additional lines as desired until your giraffe looks realistic.
